The Black Saturday Bushfires is the name given to the bushfires which started on the 7th of February 2009 and went in Victoria, Australia and was Australia's worst ever natural disaster. The weather conditions on the day were some of the most horrible bushfire weather conditions ever documented. Temperatures reached 46 degrees Celsius with winds of 100km per hour. Around 400 bushfires occurred during the day of the Black Saturday Bushfires. 2 months of extremely low rainfall and hot dry conditions soon followed after the bushfires. |
